Yamanashi Prefecture lies in the heart of Honshu island. It is home to some of Japan's highest mountains, including Mount Fuji. Supermoon rice is a new variety cultivated by the Yamanashi Prefectural Government. Named for it’s size, the grains are 1.5 times larger than Koshihikari. Special cultivation methods allow for a significant reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilizers. It is chewy, fragrant, and sweet.
