Thank you for visiting Nippon Food! We are purveryors of premium Japanese rice, which we source directly from local farms throughout Japan.
We offer cultivars from eight prefectures in Japan, including the exclusive Uonuma Koshihikari from Niigata Prefecture, often considered the best rice in Japan. Also offered are more unique cultivars, such as Oborozuki from the northern island of Hokkaido and Kinuhikari from Hyogo prefecture. Though Japan is relatively small, the fertile terrain and abundance of natural resources create an ideal environment for growing rice. Moreover, the unique microclimates in each prefecture imparts subtle nuances in their respective cultivars, each unique yet equally delicious.
